Galliano's Party of the Century

This is suppose to happen today! We'll post pics as soon as they show up. So excitement!

"JOHN GALLIANO
is gearing up for one hell of a party. As Christian Dior prepares for its 60th anniversary this summer, rumour has it the British designer will stage a one-off couture show on July 2, inside Versaille's stunning Orangerie. According to WWD, models have already been booked and instructed to arrive an enormous eight hours before showtime - now that's a lot of hair and make-up. No stranger to fashion, the exact location was chosen for a Dior "Matrix"-themed couture show back in 1999.

The palace itself, which hadn't permitted a fashion shoot for over 25 years, also miraculously opened its doors to the American Vogue team last year, for the memorable Kirsten Dunst cover shoot inspired by Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. If you can't make it to France for the show, John will also be making his way to London to throw a Champagne reception with British Vogue, at the V&A, during London Fashion Week on September 18. One of the world's most passionate ambassadors for the survival and genius of Haute Couture, Gallliano will be celebrating the gallery's opening of its aptly named exhibition, The Golden Age of Couture."

Kris Van Assche Debuts for Dior Homme

Dior showed it's first collection since the ousting of former designer Hedi Slimane yesterday.

Kris Van Assche who worked with Hedi for 7 years, was determined to put his own mark on the brand. However it seems that the initial response, on the net at least, hasn't been that positive. Many have criticized the new direction as boring and lacking in the excitement that Hedi brought to the brand.

And it appears that the models at the show may have also felt the same way. Unveiled in a sheikh’s mansion on the Avenue Foch, not a smile was seen on any of the fellas as they posed in a series of static tableaux in three ornate salons.

Cheer up Charlie's! Hedi will be back any minute.

I HEART JOHN GALLIANO

Genius John Galliano opened his provocative Paris show with the outfit below, surely a comment on the current climate. Models wore neon camouflage prints, loose or padded jackets and combat-style vests with pockets and straps strung over bare chests. Exposed skin was daubed with army-style camouflage paint; faces were obscured with netting, helmets, foliage, traditional Middle-Eastern headdresses and fake beards.

Totally hot. He can put a fatwa on me any day!
