Gemma Ward

While N.Y. Fashion week is happening, Gemma Ward is in Australia shooting a movie. Before she left she answered 21 questions for the New York magazine. If you've ever wondered who she thinks should be president and what's her favourite medicine, then you have WAY too much time on your hands, but you'll probably love this interview.

New York Fashion Week- The Box

Above is a video of the most exclusive club in Manhattan, 'The Box'. Apparently this is the only place to be seen this New York fashion week. It's so friggen cool, the only sign that it exists is the 'shiny new' post office box out the front.

This is just the sort of place Georgie and I belong at. We won't go to any club you don't have to dig, crawl, swim or climb to get to. No one said being cool was easy...

Check out this interesting article on The Box and also the whole week.

The Daily

The Daily is the know all guide to the goings on at New York Fashion Week, with tid bits of goss like how Britney's black strappy singlet almost malfunctioned, among other gems! Isn't it good to see that Green is in- we are always ahead of the trends...

Check it out.

NY Fashion week- Toni Maticevski

Melbourne's own Toni Maticevski, had his international debut at New York Fashion week yesterday. And I have to say he made quite the entrance...

Below is my rap up of the highlights, lowlights and the 'did you have any lights on when you were making that thing?'

THE GOOD Hot...

Hotter...

Hottest...

Bitch sustained 3rd degree burns to her entire body.

THE BAD

It's not that I think this is fundamentally ugly. I mean if I saw someone out wearing it, I'd probably think they were friggin awesome for been so bold. Although I imagine it might be hard for them to go a night without been mistaken for a time traveller straight off the set of Dynasty.

The rope belt is an interesting choice though. It's like the model is saying 'I've
finally made it, but I haven't forgotten where I came from' (that been a small shack in Hicksville USA, where she shared a bed with 14 siblings and stayed warm by crowding around a fire in a 10 gallon barrel.)

Son- "Mum put some clothes on, my friends are here!"

Mother (Said in a deep southern accent)- "My deeear son, your friends will have to get to KNOW the feee-male figure if they ever wish to satisfy a WOMAN!"

If 'fur is murder', then a jacket made out of the roadkill from the entire Eastern freeway is a crime punishable by anal electrocution!

THE UGLY
Good lord! It's like it's a cross between a decorative doll on top of a girl's 1oth birthday cake and one of those satin jumpsuits you wear when using a simulated sky diving machine. A strong gust of wind and she'll be off!

Toni's inspiration for this dress was every 1950's quilt my Nana had saved in her cupboard for 'special guests'. He's then thrown it onto an unsuspecting model and tied a belt around her waist to hold the whole thing together. At least she can take a nap no matter where she is.

New York Fashion Week...

Super talented and personal fave New Zealand designer Karen Walker showed a collection in New York yesterday that centred around a 1930's comic book character that leads a double life.

How great would a double life be? That would mean you could shop and drink twice as much, right?

(Stay tuned for more NY Fashion Week updates...)
