Galliano's Party of the Century
This is suppose to happen today! We'll post pics as soon as they show up. So excitement!
"JOHN GALLIANO is gearing up for one hell of a party. As Christian Dior prepares for its 60th anniversary this summer, rumour has it the British designer will stage a one-off couture show on July 2, inside Versaille's stunning Orangerie. According to WWD, models have already been booked and instructed to arrive an enormous eight hours before showtime - now that's a lot of hair and make-up. No stranger to fashion, the exact location was chosen for a Dior "Matrix"-themed couture show back in 1999.
The palace itself, which hadn't permitted a fashion shoot for over 25 years, also miraculously opened its doors to the American Vogue team last year, for the memorable Kirsten Dunst cover shoot inspired by Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. If you can't make it to France for the show, John will also be making his way to London to throw a Champagne reception with British Vogue, at the V&A, during London Fashion Week on September 18. One of the world's most passionate ambassadors for the survival and genius of Haute Couture, Gallliano will be celebrating the gallery's opening of its aptly named exhibition, The Golden Age of Couture."
